May 28th, 2006: I will not be silenced.

So last night’s movie thing was pretty short lived - After Diary of a Mad Black woman (which was really, REALLY good) - we started watching Big Momma’s House 2 (which was not good). It was so sucky even, that we ended up entertaining ourselves by ravishing each other for two hours and then some. Which would explain why I woke up late today.

Not to mention the weather was really gross in the morning, or that we were trying to catch a cab to the theatre and it took forever, or that some asshole practically slammed the door on my head trying to get ahead of me in line. Needless to say I was annoyed. The only thing that could make the day better and bring me joy was seeing this movie.

And it was awesome. The whole movie was awesome. And that’s all I will say because anything else would ruin the movie. The theatre wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be; Joel and I practically got a whole row to ourselves. And still, there’s always someone to ruin things. Three young teenagers (I’m thinking they’re teenagers, they may have been about 13) sat in the row in front of us directly in front of our chairs, which was in no way bad. However, their behavior during the movie was uncalled for, in my opinion.

I’m sorry, but if you’re watching an action movie, thriller, or comedy you can’t expect people in the theatre not to react to the movie. Joel and I aren’t the type to be loud or ignorant during a movie, trust me. So when a particular part of the movie makes up gasp and protest with the rest of the theatre, I was a little surprised to see one of the boys turn around and shush me and Joel. Which was fine, sometimes people are like that. The movie continues and people shout out and babies cry - no movement from the row ahead of us. Joel lets out a chuckle or we start cursing at the screen (no louder than anyone else in the theatre, mind you) the same boy turns around and shushes us. It continues to go one like that until I realize he’s only shushing us. I’m talking about all through the movie until the last 15 minutes of the movie when I couldn’t even get into the movie the way I would have wanted to because every time I react to something I see these little shits start spitting all over each other trying to silence me. I mean, maybe I was just having a bad day but he was complaining louder than we were talking in the first place. Joel even said something to them about moving or shutting up, but of course they didn’t listen. I was too too annoyed at this point, and the next time they attempt to shut me and Joel up, I lean forward abruptly:

“Can you kindly shut the fuck up? I mean really, don’t feel the need to concern yourself with what I’m saying. If you want to watch the movie in silence, next time keep your ass home and wait for the dvd to come out, don’t roll up in here with the intention of watching a movie with a group of strangers and expect them to give a shit if they’re too loud for your taste.”

As an after thought maybe I was wrong? Well shit, I stand by it. The first 5 rows of the theatre were empty after the movie had started (which is when they came in) and they choose to not only sit in front of us, but then to be in our faces the whole movie. Yes, I’ll admit, I can be quite the high strung one - especially around Joel (bodyguard status), but really . Blech. Sometimes I hate the Bronx. I don’t care if you sell drugs on the weekends, you’re not that grown yet. At least one of Joel’s friends (who works at that theatre) is going to hook us up with a discount next time.

The bottom line - The movie was great!

Ben Foster.

I think they made a good choice for angel, if just going on looks. I have to admit I’m quite facinated by how different Ben Foster looks (a far cry from that crazy artsy kid in  Six Feet under). I didn’t even recognize him, and I’m interested to see how he’ll act the part.

I’m so excited to see X-men III this weekend. I would go see it tonight but my mom isn’t into crowds; in this case I wouldn’t mind the people but she wants me to see it with her so I’ll go with it. It’s also, of course, my favorite video game to play, if I had to choose. I mean I’ve been playing x-men games from way back - I’m talkin on my old frumpy sega genesis with a big ass brick for a game cartridge way back. My mom has always been a comics fanatic and here I go now. Though I have it in check. Well, I think so. If they didn’t cast sexy ass actors for the parts I would be able to exercise some self control.  Anyway, moving on from my geeky-ness.

I’ve got to go get snacks because movie night starts tonight for me and Joel. I get to finally see The Family Stone, Diary of a Mad black Woman, and yes - Hoodwinked.
