May 28th, 2006: I will not be silenced.

So last night’s movie thing was pretty short lived - After Diary of a Mad Black woman (which was really, REALLY good) - we started watching Big Momma’s House 2 (which was not good). It was so sucky even, that we ended up entertaining ourselves by ravishing each other for two hours and then some. Which would explain why I woke up late today.

Not to mention the weather was really gross in the morning, or that we were trying to catch a cab to the theatre and it took forever, or that some asshole practically slammed the door on my head trying to get ahead of me in line. Needless to say I was annoyed. The only thing that could make the day better and bring me joy was seeing this movie.

And it was awesome. The whole movie was awesome. And that’s all I will say because anything else would ruin the movie. The theatre wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be; Joel and I practically got a whole row to ourselves. And still, there’s always someone to ruin things. Three young teenagers (I’m thinking they’re teenagers, they may have been about 13) sat in the row in front of us directly in front of our chairs, which was in no way bad. However, their behavior during the movie was uncalled for, in my opinion.

I’m sorry, but if you’re watching an action movie, thriller, or comedy you can’t expect people in the theatre not to react to the movie. Joel and I aren’t the type to be loud or ignorant during a movie, trust me. So when a particular part of the movie makes up gasp and protest with the rest of the theatre, I was a little surprised to see one of the boys turn around and shush me and Joel. Which was fine, sometimes people are like that. The movie continues and people shout out and babies cry - no movement from the row ahead of us. Joel lets out a chuckle or we start cursing at the screen (no louder than anyone else in the theatre, mind you) the same boy turns around and shushes us. It continues to go one like that until I realize he’s only shushing us. I’m talking about all through the movie until the last 15 minutes of the movie when I couldn’t even get into the movie the way I would have wanted to because every time I react to something I see these little shits start spitting all over each other trying to silence me. I mean, maybe I was just having a bad day but he was complaining louder than we were talking in the first place. Joel even said something to them about moving or shutting up, but of course they didn’t listen. I was too too annoyed at this point, and the next time they attempt to shut me and Joel up, I lean forward abruptly:

“Can you kindly shut the fuck up? I mean really, don’t feel the need to concern yourself with what I’m saying. If you want to watch the movie in silence, next time keep your ass home and wait for the dvd to come out, don’t roll up in here with the intention of watching a movie with a group of strangers and expect them to give a shit if they’re too loud for your taste.”

As an after thought maybe I was wrong? Well shit, I stand by it. The first 5 rows of the theatre were empty after the movie had started (which is when they came in) and they choose to not only sit in front of us, but then to be in our faces the whole movie. Yes, I’ll admit, I can be quite the high strung one - especially around Joel (bodyguard status), but really . Blech. Sometimes I hate the Bronx. I don’t care if you sell drugs on the weekends, you’re not that grown yet. At least one of Joel’s friends (who works at that theatre) is going to hook us up with a discount next time.

The bottom line - The movie was great!

I am a very tasteful and classy person until you press my button and even then I can cuss you out in the calmest manner its crazy. I love diary of a mad black woman i can watch that movie 349857 times especially when she goes “I’m not bitter I’m mad as hell” thats my fav part.

Hey thanks for stopping by my site…lol I would’ve done the same thing probably if someone was trying to tell me to be quiet during a movie. The last movie I went to see the audience was very involved with the movie, laughing, shouting out things, and no one said anything it was great.

BMH2 was actually kinda good too…I thought it was gonna be a corny sequel but it was very entertaining.

oooh gone ahead girl. I would have been too damn madd if some lil’ ass kids was acting like that when they had every chance to choose to sit somewhere else. Anyways it’s good that you enjoyed the movie over-all, I love this layout =) it’s so prettiful. these colors rock!

I watched Big Momma’s House 2 and thought it was alright. Actually, I haven’t even seen the first one, or maybe I just don’t remember it? Haha, idk.

That’s insane about the movies. Those kids were just doing that to show off and because they had nothing better to do. So, you actually did say that (what’s in the blockquote), or you thought about saying that? Maybe I missed something. If you did say that, go you! Haha…

Dee: Blech, That movie was just dead man, Martin Lawrence acts too ridiculous sometimes lol. Yeah, I actually said that, and they actually scurried off as soon as the credits started to roll . I can become one of those ‘cranky new yorkers’ real quick.

I’d say that.. you weren’t wrong. I find it funny that they seemed to be targeting you. In fact, I probably would have been even ruder. Sorry things didn’t go as well as you had hoped for the entire day :/

I saw Diary of a Mad Black Woman when it first came out in theaters. I loved it.

I hate people like that. I’ve been in a scary movie where we couldn’t scream, say “oh my god”, or react at all because some douchebags in front of us kept shushing us and eventually tried to go get the managers on us. wtf. People are idiot.s

  11. Angelina on June 2nd, 2006 at 12:39 am

I don’t know if it’s just me, or what, but what’s the title of the movie you went to see, seeing as you I don’t think you watched those two at the theater? Lol. Anyway, I fucking hate when little kids go to movies because they hardly ever know when or how to shut up. It’s obnoxious, but I admit, my crowd can be too sometimes haha.

  12. Emelita on June 2nd, 2006 at 7:52 pm

Girl, I don’t even go to the movies anymore becuase my city is swarming with ignorant “children” that feel the need to ruin the movie for everyone on the theatre by doing stuff like that, so I know how you feel.

I know you asked me about my comments security plugin where you have to type in a confirmation code before you send a comment, here’s the URL to the plugin. http://nio.infor96.com/archives/369

I hate hate hate it when you get to sit next to the most shit-assed people in the movie theaters. Especially when they tell you to keep quiet and then turn around and get noisy themselves. Ugh. People are so annoying. xD

I’m glad that despite those stupid teenagers you managed to enjoy the movie.

  16. IRENE on June 4th, 2006 at 8:32 pm

I’m with you, I don’t mind if those sitting next to me in a theater get excited at certain parts of a movie. I do the same. However, I do detest those idiots who come to a theater just for the sake of *talking the entire length of the movie. This happened to me during “X-Men 3″ as a matter of fact. It sounds to me like those kids in front of you were just acting like jerks. It happens. I totally commend you for calling them on their BS though. I would have done the same and if I’d been in the same theater, I would have applauded. *lol* So kudos to you, sweetie!

And on a sidenote, what is with those people who come into an almost empty theater and feel the need to site right. in. front. of. you. ARG. It drives me crazy. *lmao*
