June 24th, 2006: Friendship.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes and hair compliments I intended to post, but i’ll save that for later when I’m rested enough to edit this post- for now:

I’ve been pixelling like crazy, for all types of things - I think it’s theraputic - and so here you are:

new blog icons

These are specifically for very light backgrounds (because of the shadowing and some colors they have). Shortly you’ll be able to dowload ones with no shadow for light layouts (other than white), and I’ll mirror that for dark backgrounds.

I had fun making them, so all is good. It seems I forgot some important ones I really meant to add, so I’ll be updating the download file in a day or so - don’t download yet if you were planning to so you may get the complete pack.

I also received some lovely stuff in the mail:

it made me smile

A birthday card from Irene - thanks sweetie!

with cute stickers and a sweet note.

I also recieved some beautiful hoop earrings (that I was in need of) and a friendship photo book from her - again.

Earrings and friendship book.

Its so beautiful! I want to start filling it up right away:

the pages are doubled so pictures can be slid inbetween.

Every page has a sweet saying about friendship, including one that says “The only way to have a friend is to be a friend.”  I spend alot of time thinking about all the trifling people I had to sift through to find just a few decent friends. Well, not just decent friends - decent people who won’t take advantage of the trust you’ve given them and the time you put into the relationship. Yes, maybe I’m a little bitter, but it’s justified. The book got me thinking. Hmm, I think it’s time to build (or rebuild) the good memories.

The heat has finally let up…only for it to rain. So I think I’ll catch up on my reading ( I bought seven books last month and I only have two left).

Oh, and can anyone tell me what a pingback is? I always see it and I’m curious.

omg those pixels are the cutest thing ever!!

  2. Tara on June 24th, 2006 at 9:49 am

I’m amazed you spent time doing that. To me, that wouldn’t be therapeutic. It’d be frustrating hell for me. But they are cute though. They are nicely done, and I give you kudos for being so patient with that. ^_^

  3. Corvida on June 25th, 2006 at 1:43 am

    Happy belated birthday.

The pixels are very cute! You make me want to add something new to my blog so that I can include them. Not tonight though maybe tomorrow…

  6. Noreen on June 26th, 2006 at 11:43 am

I’M HERE BABY! I’m online at bangmb for so much of the time that I forget I have a site too! Worst updater ever=me! Anyhow, look at your talent with those pixels! And that’s some cute stuff you received. Can you believe I don’t own a single pair of hoop earrings? I try to change that, but I’m so picky with the stuff I see. How I can be picky with a simple pair of hoops, I don’t know. :P

    Have a good week darling!

Hey! Is pixelling hard to do? They are so cute! I wonder why its been storming so bad everywhere! You have to have the right personality to sell cell phones. You have to be outgoing and convincing. Now I’m not the most outgoing person…I’m usually shy, but I have my moments. When I am talking to a customer I almost put on a show. You get better the longer you do it. My first few months it was tough but now its been almost a year and its a lot easier. TMobile doesnt work in this area, so we dont sell it. As long as tmobile works in your area and is popular…you should have no problem. I think the sidekicks and the low prices would make it easy to sell. haha I know if it worked here I would have a sidekick..they are so cute! Good luck!

Aw, the pixels are darling. And it sounds like you got a lot of cute stuff from friends for your birthday! Cards always make me smile. That yam card had me rolling!! Happy belated, because I’m not entirely sure if I came by here and wished you a happy birthday when it happened.

  12. shereena on June 27th, 2006 at 12:01 am

Well look at you! Pixeling away huh? I used to love doing that, it is therapeutic in a way, keeps you calm and occupied anyway. Those gifts are so sweet too I think a pingback is just when someone plugs your site (and I believe they have to use WP) and others click on it, it shows up on the ‘dashboard’ page. That’s my guess lol :P

  13. Noelle on June 27th, 2006 at 5:33 am

aw i had to go back and read your previouis entry and i saw your new hairstyle .. it’s really hot! i’ve never done something like that with my hair i always keep it 100% natural .. i’m thinking of cutting it and doing something drastic with it (not go overboard though lol) .. cute pixels!

Wow, those are great. I think we all have our little outlets that we go towards when we want to relax. Sleep is one great one that everyone has. I need to figure out my own other than sleep. I let things worry me to much.. like what am i going to do 2 months from now.. i need an outlet like yours to relieve myself of that… I hope this modeling crap is it… so far it doesnt seem like it… Anyways, keep up the good work mama… Love the site & goodies.
