September 15th, 2006: Finally, a break!
I just had to exploit my lover for a moment. :lovestruck:
I’ve been quite the busy one these past few weeks. Interviews left and right, and yes, still running around with friends - even in the sometimes soggy weather.
My mom was so right, finding a job is a job in itself, she said after I’d come home from yet another interview and was completely drained. Well, drained from the commute more than the actual interview.
Seriously. I get such a friendly reminder everytime I have to board the train that there’s alot of overworked, underpaid, disgruntled, troubled commuters in the city. I’ve been snarled at and had eyes rolled at me several times for simply chatting on the phone, or gabbing with joel (when we’re on the same train). I think I’m beginning to end up being one of those people, except for the pay
So I went on one interview and it was crowded. So incredibly crowded. The line to get your application and marked for your attendance was even longer. My fault, I suppose — I thought my interview was at 11 and it was really at 10am
I was lucky they were still giving interviews. I heard two guys behind me talking about blowing the place (later in the conversation it became clear that it was only because the line was so long). I think if there were windows in the room we were in, there’d be armed forces flying through the windows to snatch them up, lmao. Anyway, the interview went well and the interviewer looked grouchy but was super enthusiastic about me working there, and said i should apply again if I don’t hear from them, which I think was a good sign, so yay.
All my other interviews were uneventful, but went well nonetheless. I still have one on the 20th for this insurance company (who called after seeing my resume on monster.com - i think) and was very insistant that I set an appointment. I’m not sure about that one, since I asked him what exactly I would be doing and he couldn’t answer me; I was on hold for a good five minutes. When he returned he babbled about selling something, and clients and that I could ask more questions when I came to the interview.
Very suspect if you ask me.
We’ll see though. So yes, life is still pretty fast paced, but this weekend there’s a lull and I intend to take full advantage of it!
I shall leave you with a picture of Cornyflakes, who’s sitting in one of his favorite spots in my house:

Cute cat. :3
And wow… that sure sounds fast paced and whatnot. At least if I commute around in Seoul, most people doesn’t bother to look at me or whatnot. x_x;;
And that insurance company who wants you badly does sound suspicious… hopefully it will be a good job offer. :3
Good luck and hope you do get a good job!

Finding a job is a hassle. I’ve put if off so far this semester, but I need to get looking because I definitely need to find one for the spring/summer.
Has putting your resume on Monster really helped? I’m looking for something scientific, like a lab or research aid, not really office/desk work, so I don’t know if it would help me. I think I just need to put more effort into going out there and looking.
But good luck!! I hope you get one soon.
