April 9th, 2007: The Secret Only Few Know.


So I watched The Secret last night. What an inspiring movie/documentary. Though I thoroughly believe that action brings change, I still believe that your mindset also affects how things work out for you. For those who don’t know, The Secret is about using the law of attraction (“like attracts like”)to improve any area of your life. On a scientific level, according to them, a positive thought is more powerful than a negative thought. The professionals in the movie speaks on how what you put out into the universe is what you receive. Karma, but on a different level. Not only how you think about other people, but how you think and perceive yourself that is returned to you. Interesting, to me at least.

Today there was a fire in Maria’s and Tony’s building. As of right now it’s assumed to be a suspicious fire, I guess based on what they found when they inspected the apartment. Maria’s staying with me, while her mom is staying w/ her boyfriend. Their side wasn’t affected by the fire, but their phone and cable were so yeah. There’s been two other fires in the bronx today. Craaaazy.

I’ve been surrounded by so much drama in the past few weeks; abusive relationships, everyone’s skeletons coming out of the closet, people fistfighting. I’m so not used to it. I prefer to live a peaceful existance. Fun & Peaceful. But somehow I got dragged into everyone’s mess. I’m trying to keep a positive outlook on this despite all the reasons I should be running around stabbing people. When you’re open to help people with their problems you’re prone to be dragged into it sometimes,  that’s what I realized.

I’m going to a family function soon. A big one. I’ll get to see Joel dressed to the nines, and I haven’t seen that yet! He’s going to look delicious.
