June 10th, 2007: She doesn’t know what she’s getting into.

I sat there, watching her adjust the straps of a long flowing dress she was trying on her now more mature frame, and when she looked at me and decided “yes, this was the one”, all I could think of was the fact that my baby sister was growing up.

It’s not like I didn’t know, or I didn’t see it. But sometimes it just kind of…hits you. I’m such a crybaby. :

I was helping her pick out her prom dress for junior highschool. We all remember that. As it was the farthest we’d been in school at that point, we all thought were were graduating college. Because 8th grade is a big thing, after all.

But she’s going into HS now, just when I still kinda feel like I just left. She’ll have what I didn’t have; an older sibling whose ‘been there, done that’ and hopefully now that she’s went and came back from her rebellious pre-teen stage I can help her steer clear of the HS bullshit (we know what that is) though as an afterthought I know it’s unavoidable. Well if she can avoid 50% of the unneccesary crap that happens in HS I think she’ll be well off.

I remember when I went back to HS to visit my music teacher. She’s the best, really. But it was so wierd going back to a place that was your whole world for four years. And then to see how things changed; it’s like a living memory.

Rambles, Rambles.

My birthday is in eight days. So someone is throwing me a party, from what I found out on Friday. Which is pretty nice, considering I was going to do absolutely nothing for my birthday.  22 is kind of an odd year, I guess. No milestone in that. Just as I cut some people out of my life, here enters some real cool people who are not only more my age and level of maturity, but they’re just as eager to stay away from unneccesary drama as I am.

It’s a nice change. :satisfied:

Let’s not forget to mention that my wisdom teeth are killing me, and I think I’m going to have to get them taken out. Joy.

Oh this is a gorgeous new layout… One of these days I will master creating an all-CSS layout like this one XD . That is if I ever get off my lazy butt.

And hrmmmm I don’t feel that way about my high school since after graduating I just went on to work there. Haha!

Man. I’m going to be nervous just like you when my daughter gets into her teen years. Her body is already frightening me. :crackhead:

Was the party supposed to be a surprise party? Act like you don’t know nothing about it girl.

Happy early b-day . Its always to have friends who don’t attract a lot of drama. It makes life a tad bit easier.

Goodness me! *reads previous journal entry* What a night of debauchery, eh?
I have no younger sisters, so I don’t know how that feels. I’m the baby of the family. *lol* I’d love a younger sister, and I’m so glad you feel thankful to have one - they sound like they bring so much joy to your life. But I am so, so thankful for my older brother. He nearly died at birth and I might not have him today, so thank goodness he’s okay.
My wisdom teeth have been a buggery too. I hope yours are okay. Good luck with any surgery you may need.
And, lastly, thank you so much for your support for my Onion. I am certain that he adored your lovely comment as much as I did. He and I both hope your kitty gets better, and that they both live long, healthy and happy lives. Losing a kitty is excruciating. Please drop by to P-R.com sometime again. You certainly are proof that there still are great people in this world, and not everyone’s turned bad just yet! There’s hope for everyone that the world will one day be kind. Thanks for helping show me that.
    Cheerio!

I hear you about those wisdom teeth. I had my top two removed but my bottom two are a pain. Only one has broken the gum and it’s screaming at me!!!

    Aw. (:
Though I don’t share those kinds of feelings towards my younger brothers (I prefer ordering them around and beating them up to show my love, hahahaha!! xD), it’s really sweet. It doesn’t make me wish I had a younger sister, though. I’m really bad with little girls—I get along better with boys. :P

Isn’t it exciting to be there for your younger sibling, yet weird at the same time! My little brother, whom I changed diapers for so many times, is growing up too… I know how you feel.

The picture of your boyfriend on the last post is adorable! He looks so nice and sophisticated.

I know exactly what you mean. I had to see my sister off to prom and HS graduation. It was a very emotional time for me, watching her all grown up and doing her thing. They grow TOO fast and it makes ME feel old.

Change is always good. I recently have been going through changes of my own and I feel SO refreshed.

I’m an only child, so I can’t imagine what it must be like to watch your little sister grow up. I’m sure it was bittersweet helping her choose a prom dress. I don’t doubt that you’ll continue to be a kick ass big sister, and help your little sister avoid the things she needs to.

WOW - your birthday again? It seems like I just sent you a birthday card for your last birthday. *lol* I hope you have a fantastic birthday, Dee! ♥
